Each of our self-paced history courses has 160 class periods covering 32 historical events. With interactive teaching, clever games, engaging video footage, and a talking historical character, your child will be motivated throughout the entire year. This approach to learning history is unparalleled. It includes:

• Memorizing names, dates, and places to learn how God has worked throughout history.
• Multi-sensory learning through interactions and games make the work fun and exciting.
• Providing a foundation for more in-depth study in later years.
• Teaching a chronological sequence or timeline of history.

Young students learn the major characters and events through hearing the Bible, stick figuring the passage, and answering questions about lessons. The method for young children is Hear-Draw-Review.

Once students reach first grade we introduce them to the timeline of biblical characters and events. The first lesson in these studies are the timeline, then each subsequent lesson relates to a character or event on the timeline. The method for older students is Read-Draw-Review. With each progressive age, we attempt to introduce students to more Scripture, basic Bible geography, and how to use Bible study skills such as a Bible dictionary.

Levels are:  Traceable (PreK), Beginner (ages 5-7), Level 1 (ages 6-8), Level 2 (ages 8-10), Level 3 (ages 10-12); Level 4 (ages 12-14)

Books include: Old Testament Overview, Old Testament Catechism, New Testament Overview, New Testament Catechism, Biblical Feasts and Holy Days, Birth of Jesus, Esther, Joseph, Ruth, The Resurrection, Moses and the Exodus, and various timelines.

Mega Verses is a scripture memory program to help families memorize the Word. The complete set includes four CD’s and the Mega Verse Journal. This comprehensive modern history cover both U.S. and World History side by side.  Whereas the majority of history studies end with World War II and study U.S. and World History separately, TRISMS combines them and covers such important events as 9/11.

The following “revolutions” will be studied in the course of study. They overlap in time, so specific questions will appear on Unit Worksheets.

These revolutions interacted and traveled not just through one part of the world, but throughout the world, affecting the affairs of people across the globe.

Rise of Nations is designed for high school.  It is an integrated, research based, non-textbook curriculum.  Its scope includes 18 units and 16 regions.  The focus of the course is Humanities. Students study the art, music, architecture, and literature of the rising nations.  This is a multi-cultural approach to literature and composition using the actual writing from the cultures.  The eastern and western worlds are studied chronologically and geographically, revealing to the student the rise of nations.

Expansion of Civilization covers both Western and Eastern Civilization.  It is an in-depth study of the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.  Students will learn how a great empire rises, and how it falls.  Studying the art, music, architecture, and literature will greatly contribute to their study and help them to realize exactly what took place.

Discovering the Ancient World is designed for High School, but is adaptable to grades six through eight. It is an integrated, research based, non-textbook curriculum including 18 units that cover the origins of 18 civilizations. Eastern and Western civilizations are studied chronologically and geographically and in-depth. The multicultural approach to literature and composition utilizes the actual writings from the civilizations. Science focuses on discoveries made during the time period with an emphasis on the concepts of these discoveries and their impact on today’s technology. ——Covering from Beginning of recorded history – 500 B.C. Map the world with the explorers, visit the seen and unseen with the scientists and inventors. Woven throughout are the Language art assignments and references for IEW writing structure and styles. Your scholar will create their own textbooks, timeline and see how transportation and communications has linked us into one.
