“I love you because” List and Craft Tutorial
For this craft, you will need:
- 8×10 frame with glass on the front (metallic, wooden or plastic)
- letter-sized paper in fun colors to use as a background under the glass
- hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
- scrapbook stickers of choice
- scrapbooking alphabet letters in the desired designs
- dry erase markers
- optional: jewelry beads (to create an inner frame)
Spread all of your stickers, beads, alphabet letters and such and pick out the colors and designs you want. Don’t forget to pick out the letter-sized paper for the background. Put that background paper in the frame. Now you have the blank canvas to work with and are ready to start decorating.
If you have jewelry beads for an inner frame like the pictures above, I would suggest you first hot glue the beads around the frame perimeter or wherever you want them. That way, you know how much area you have to work with for the stickers and letters.
After that, use a ruler to trace two parallel lines on the top part of the frame with a dry erase marker, about one or one and a half inches apart. These lines will be your guide for sticking the alphabet stickers straight. On the first line, place the letters for the words “I love you,” and on the second line, place the letters for the word “because.”
Once those words are set up, you can use the stickers to decorate the rest of the frame. It is important to point out that you will need some blank and open space in the middle of the frame so you can use the dry erase markers to write out your messages to your loved one.
If you don’t want to make this an “I love you because” frame, you can add your child’s name and decorate the frame that matches her bedroom decor or her personality to write a special and encouraging note just for her!
What do you think? Simple, right? Include the kids in making some for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, or for any occasion you can think of!
