How much experience with the camp topic is needed? None! The camps are designed for everyone, from beginners excited to learn to veterans eager to hone their skills.
All Teen Camps include a field trip and camp-specific activities such as the moot court tournament, drama productions, and intelligence missions. Come prepared to experience an action-packed summer with us!
Patrick Henry College Teen Camps has made a large impact on the entirety of my high school years. The academic experience is excellent - the professors are patient and very engaging. Through Debate, Constitutional Law, Economics, and Literature camps, I have learned not only how to use these academic skills, but to apply a hardworking attitude to my academic life back at home. The classroom atmosphere is encouraging - you never feel afraid to ask a question or to state your point of view regarding a topic. The counselors are truly fantastic as well! From the moment you walk onto campus, you are treated like a friend. They make the times away from the classroom fun and very memorable. They have also inspired and encouraged me in many ways, and my faith has been greatly strengthened through my interaction with them. PHC Teen Camps will definitely be the highlight of your summer, as it has been mine!
Through attending a C.S. Lewis teen-camp, I was awaken to the beauty of literature through the eyes and ears of believers. I gained such a respect for the Professors, and their ability to communicate thoroughly with the class. This single experience has ultimately led to my decision to attend Patrick Henry College this coming fall, and I would recommend this experience to anyone considering PHC as their possible college of choice.
I attended one of the camps hosted by Patrick Henry College in 2012 and had a blast! The counselors were such godly and fun influences on me, and really helped me out during a tough time in my life. Living on Patrick Henry's campus for a few weeks was cool too. That experience helped me realize that college wouldn't be so scary after all. All of the field trips and games, which the counselors ran, were a ton of fun too. I also made some strong, lasting friendships from my time at camp.
I specifically attended a debate camp, and learned a lot through it. The teachers were all excellent. All in all, the friendships, kind and caring counselors, fun activities, and qualified teachers made my time at Patrick Henry's camps well-spent.
Two of my daughters have attended the camps. We all were beyond pleased with the experience. It's a rare thing to have so many sincere young people from all over the country eager to discuss a myriad of awesome subjects. The professors credentials are top notch. The high quality counselors are sincere and patient leaders. Wonderful examples of Christains walking out their faith.
Teen Camps are a great way to spend your high school summers. The material covered in lectures is second-to-none, and taught by top-notch college professors and staff. It makes learning a joy. Additionally, the week is filled with fun activities (like field trips to D.C., Harper's Ferry, and more)! Solid, faith-filled relationships are cultivated here and last a long time. Living on a college campus for a week is also another way this camp is unique. I cannot recommend Teen Camps to students enough!
I am incredibly grateful that my parents allowed me to go to Teen Camps my sophomore year of high school. Going to Leadership and Vocation proved to be a pivotal point in my young adulthood; not only did it solidify my decision to attend PHC, but it opened my eyes to more of the goodness and vastness of God. Additionally, some of the people I met that summer are still my dear friends to this day. I highly recommend this camp to any teen who is eager to enjoy good, clean fun, meeting like-minded people, and grow in Christ.
