“Why can’t you get more done than this?”
Even when I try to drown it out, I hear this often.
It doesn’t matter what area of my life we’re talking about. House cleaning, educating my child, being a Godly wife to my husband, spending time in God’s Word.
It sounds the same each time…..”Why can’t you get more done than this?”
Do you ever feel as though your efforts are not “enough”? That you, one of God’s most treasured jewels, are not enough?
Rest easy, sweet friend. We all feel that way from time to time.
I haven’t taught my kiddos enough this week. The house is not clean enough. I haven’t prayed enough. I haven’t been enough of a wife to my husband.
Enough! Enough of telling yourself that what you are doing isn’t cutting it. God wants more for you than this.
I know this is hard to hear, because it is hard for me to say AND accept. When we doubt that we are enough, I believe that we are, in effect, saying that God is not enough.
But He is. We may not be perfect. We may mess up from time to time. Maybe a whole bunch of times each day. Thank goodness that not only is He enough….so is His grace.
The enemy would have you believe differently.
The enemy wants you to compare your efforts to those of others. He wants you to see the seemingly perfect day the other homeschool moms are having on Facebook and ask yourself why YOU can’t get it all done.
If they can, why can’t you?
Don’t let the enemy win. We are stronger than the doubt. Stronger than he would have us believe.
Dear Lord, I bring our daily efforts and lay them at Your feet. I ask that you lift up these precious homeschooling moms who are believing the enemy’s lies and pour Your peace into them. These moms are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image, and I ask that You show them their strengths and not their weaknesses. I praise You for the ways in which You will reveal Your plan for this storm in their lives and the ways in which You will bring them through it with a peace that surpasses all understanding. We can do all things through You, Lord. In Your name we pray….Amen.
Leave your cares and worries at His throne. And if you have specific prayer concerns, please leave me a message here. I would be honored to pray for your individual needs.
