Yes, finding what works best for my son can be a challenge. I have to mix and match to find the right fit.
Not changing to the latest, new thing when what I am using is working just fine.
The most difficult part for me is choosing things I can reuse with the rest of the kids because my children are vastly different from each other.
I think lal is the hardest because there are so many choices.

Choosing curriculum is hard for me because I have 6 school aged children still at home, so balancing our wants with our checkbook has to happen.
