Designed for instructors and learners with no Latin background, Lowe’s unique curriculum focuses on teaching grammar systematically to encourage retention and understanding—rather than topically to facilitate translation. Extensive workbook exercises ensure skills mastery and rapid recognition of inflected forms. Includes an everything-you-need teacher’s manual, accessible student text and workbook, quizzes and tests, pronunciation CD, flash cards, and DVDs. Grades 4 and up. 4 volumes.

Self-paced Omnibus courses are geared for 7th – 12th graders. Omnibus is a Latin term meaning “all encompassing.” Combining history, theology and literature, these courses help students grow in their appreciation of the unity of all knowledge. Each year offers two courses; the primary books course and the secondary books course. They can be taken separately, but taken together, students earn three credits—history, theology and literature.

Filmmaking from the First Directors teaches the basics of filmmaking and early film history. It takes students through a unique journey starting in the late 19th century when film was invented, then guides them through the steps first directors took in creating the modern language of film.

Each lesson in this homeschool filmmaking class includes watching a series of lectures on history and production basics then viewing original films. Assignments will include making a variety of short films which will be uploaded for class comments and review. The goal of the class is to teach students how to make films one step at a time.
