AMERICAN HISTORY YEAR 1
This is a comprehensive study of American history from pre-Columbus through the start of the Civil War. Content of each chapter is based on the 15 major components of culture: families, agriculture, media, military, government, religion, education, discoveries, industry, communication, leaders, light/energy, art, sports, and transportation. Each lesson incorporates a narrative carefully designed to engage the students emotionally and academically. Theme art, time lines, maps and charts illustrate each lesson to “pull the student’s mind” into the text and clarify content. This course has been called “real history” because it ties the fifteen major cultural components to real people, places and principles which distinguish America. It is not revisionist history. The vocabulary level is applicable for students from eighth through twelfth grade. The content is designed to raise students’ aspirations for noble and honorable lifestyles of the American Dream. Essential academic elements are aligned with standards normally expected for grades eight through high school, either for essential elements or for state exit exams. Some states require graduating students to know about the Founding Fathers and important national documents; this course covers these topics in chapters 3-6. *(Teachers who omit some sections in order to accommodate state or local school circumstances will need to avoid assigning applicable portions of chapter quizzes and tests.) *America’s Founding Fathers, Events and Documents is a stand-alone unit study of 15 pertinent topics extrapolated from chapters. 1-6 of the People, Places and Principles of America, and is suitable as an adjunct to other history, government or civics courses and more.

AMERICAN HISTORY YEAR 2

Content of each chapter is based on the 15 major components of culture: families, agriculture, media, military, government, religion, education, discoveries, industry, communication, leaders, light/energy, art, sports, and transportation. Each lesson incorporates a narrative carefully designed to engage the students emotionally and academically. Theme art, time lines, maps and charts illustrate each lesson to “pull the student’s mind” into the text and clarify content. This course has been called “real history” because it ties the fifteen major cultural components to real people, places and principles which distinguish America. It is not revisionist history. The vocabulary level is applicable for students from eighth through twelfth grade. The content is designed to raise students’ aspirations for noble and honorable lifestyles of the American Dream. Essential academic elements are aligned with standards normally expected for high school. This course is designed for one high school transcript credit. Suggested for grades 8-9.

Developmental Mathematics is composed of a complete workbook series progressing, level by level, through the basic elements of arithmetic into the beginnings of algebra. As a self- teaching program, Developmental Mathematics is ideal for self-paced learning, both accelerated and remedial. The student’s progress is tracked and monitored periodically through Scoring and Performance modules. Its teaching methods cultivate independent thinking through deductive-reasoning and problem solving. Mathematical concepts and computational skills are presented clearly and concisely to allow students to advance independently. In each lesson, the student is taken from the lowest level of knowledge to the highest level of mastery. Developmental Mathematics can be used as both a full curriculum and a supplemental aid.

There are 20 workbooks in the series, that go from K-12 grade.  Levels 1-16 cover elementary and middle school math, with 17-18 covering Algebra I and 19-20 covering beginning Geometry.

Volume 1:  Who Is God? And How Can I Really Know Him?

Teach your elementary students how to use Scripture to view the world from God’s perspective with this engaging curriculum. As they learn the basics of the Christian faith—about who God is, who we are, sin, redemption, and more—they’ll be equipped to discern the truth among competing cultural messages and stand strong for what they believe!

Volume 2:  Who Am I? And What Am I Doing Here?

What gives a person value? What provides purpose for a life? Who Am I? And What Am I Doing Here? helps children understand what it means to be made in the image of God. This is the second volume in Apologia’s What we Believe Worldview series.

Volume 3:  Who Is My Neighbor?

Volume 3 in Apologia’s What We Believe series, Who is My Neighbor? And Why Does He Need Me? helps children understand how to live as Christians who are salt and light in the world, in their country, in their family, and in their lives wherever they go.

Volume 4:  What On Earth Can I Do?

Volume 4 in Apologia’s What We Believe series, What on Earth Can I Do looks at what being a good and faithful servant means to your kids. Designed around a notebooking concept, this study provides opportunities for your children to ponder who God is, the talents they’ve been given, how to use them for his glory, and more. Each lesson includes a main topic, learning objectives, short story, thought-provoking questions, vocabulary, and more.

Ages 6 to 14.

The innovative Rhythm of Handwriting curriculum from Logic of English is designed to accompany the Essentialscurriculum, or serve as stand-alone writing course (it’s already built-in to the LoE Foundations series). Offering a multi-sensory approach that helps students develop fluid, natural, legible handwriting, this curriculum focuses on the kinesthetic movement of each stroke and the use of rhythmic verbal cues that guide students through the formation of each letter.

This program uses a custom font that was designed to be developmentally appropriate for young students and students struggling with handwriting. It is suitable for students of all ages who desire to master or improve their handwriting.

The Student Book is all that is needed to teach the course; the supplemental tactile cards and charts (all available in either cursive or manuscript) are not required. Both the cards and charts feature such detailed information that handwriting could be taught using only one or the other of those resources.
