Allergies can arise from being continuously overexposed to the same allergens. Local Raw Honey

Honeybees collect pollen from species of plants in a specific area.   Bits and pieces of this pollen end up in the honey they make.  When this honey is consumed in its raw state, it delivers manageable amounts of allergens to a person, helping to boost the immune system against possible allergic reactions to the pollen outside.  To use honey as a true allergy remedy, consume a few spoonfuls a day of raw, local honey months prior to allergy season.

Using raw honey is important because when honey is heated or processed, most of the benefits are killed.  In order for honey to benefit allergies, it must be in its orginal, God-created state.  Local honey is important when treating allergies because your body can build a tolerance to local allergies if you use honey made from local plant sources.


Nettle leaf causes the body to release histamine and reduces inflammatory response.  This can offer great relief to allergy sufferers.  Nettle can be taken in capsules, tea, or tincture form.

Adult dose:
Capsule – The typical recommended dose is 1-2 capsules 3 times a day.  Follow suggested dosage on bottle.
Tincture – 2 dropperfuls of nettle tincture a day
Tea –  2-3 cups of nettle tea a day

Child dose: Take half the recommended adult dose.

Vitamin C

When we have an allergy problem, we are experiencing an immune reaction.  Vitamin C is a well-known immune booster.  Taking 1000 mg. of vitamin C a day can help fight allergies.


Garlic is a popular culinary food, but many people don’t realize how it can benefit allergies.  Like vitamin C, garlic is a great food for the immune system.  Since boosting the immune system helps with allergies, garlic is another good herb to add to the list. Add fresh garlic to foods, or take garlic in capsule form. (You may want to try odorless garlic.)

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Taking raw apple cider vinegar before going outside helps with seasonal allergies by blocking our body’s histamine reaction and reducing inflammation.  It’s important to buy raw apple cider vinegar online or at a local health food store.  Apple cider vinegar at typical grocery stores will not have the benefits that raw vinegar does.  Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw vinegar into a glass of water and drink.  Repeat this 3 times a day.

  1. Yes, I concur! This last year I’ve done a few different things and have turned a very significant pollen, dust, and plant allergy into a very minimal, almost nonexistent thing…all without any meds at all! My grass and hay allergies use to be so bad that I would lose my voice fairly quickly after being exposed. If I touched any kind of cut grass (include straw, hay, alfalfa, etc) I would breakout in a massive rash. My ears would plug and my eyes would swell instantly.

    This year we started purchasing local raw honey and also from azure standard honey. At times I’ve also added bee pollen to my food. We have also been eating our own eggs which are mostly free range and drinking only raw local milk from either a local farm or our own goats.

    Now, I can literally roll around in hay, have alfalfa all over me, and nothing happens. Nothing! My allergies were so bad that my mom took me to the ER more than once when I was a kid. Now, the only time my eyes burn or water are on days I work in the hospital. Or I actually touch my eye after feeding my goats. But even then, the allergy is mild.
