If you or your children are interested in space, you’ll be interested to know that you can watch several different kinds of live streams from NASA and the International Space Station. And you can find out when the International Space Station will be flying over your location!
Live Streaming from Space
When we went to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, we learned so much about space! One of the fun things we learned was that there are all kinds of live streams available for those who want to see what’s going on in space or who want to see how Earth looks from space. It’s pretty amazing to be able to see what the astronauts on the International Space Station are doing and to see the view they have of Earth!
Want to know what Earth looks like from the International Space Station?
If your children are already interested in astronomy (or if you hope they will develop an interest in it), show them this live stream of Earth from space! It started streaming on May 27, 2020, and it’s still live streaming today. (Keep in mind that, as the International Space Station passes into a period of night every 45 minutes, video is unavailable. During that time, recorded footage is shown.)
Want to see the current ISS position?
The International Space Station – ISS – circles the earth at 240 miles above the planet. The station is crewed by NASA astronauts as well as Russian Cosmonauts and a mixture of Japanese, Canadian, and European astronauts as well.
