This captivating read-aloud series will introduce your children to the marvelous history of the world presented chronologically from the beginning of time. Each volume of The Story of the World includes the details of battles, kingdoms, cultures and customs from every continent and major people group woven together into a story that children will find mesmerizing. Designed for parents to share with elementary (grades 1-4) grade children. This series is also appropriate for grades 5-8 to do on their own.

Volume 1:  The Ancient Times:  Includes the First Nomads, Egypt, the Jewish People, Abraham and Joseph, Hammurabi and the Babylonians, the Assyrians, Ancient China, Ancient Africa, Exodus, the Phoenicians, the Greeks and Rome.

Volume 4:  The Modern Age: This narrative history covers 1850 to the present day.

This course, designed for high school students, studies the 15 basic components of cultures from 5000 BC through 2011 AD: Agriculture, Architecture, Communication, Discoveries, Dominant Personalities, Education, Families, Food, Government, Industry, Energy, Military, Religion, Sports, and Transportation. Chapter one begins with evidence of civilization in the Fertile Crescent, and expands to the major continents of the world. A conversational narrative style is designed to engages students. Selected vocabulary words are highlighted and defined to help enrich the students’ understanding of the English language. Illustrations and maps are sprinkled through each chapter to create mental images that solidify comprehension of the People, Places, & Events of World History. Character principles are added to each lesson to prompt students to consider how their world view of life is being shaped. This course consists of six chapters. This course is designed for one transcript credit.

Developmental Mathematics is composed of a complete workbook series progressing, level by level, through the basic elements of arithmetic into the beginnings of algebra. As a self- teaching program, Developmental Mathematics is ideal for self-paced learning, both accelerated and remedial. The student’s progress is tracked and monitored periodically through Scoring and Performance modules. Its teaching methods cultivate independent thinking through deductive-reasoning and problem solving. Mathematical concepts and computational skills are presented clearly and concisely to allow students to advance independently. In each lesson, the student is taken from the lowest level of knowledge to the highest level of mastery. Developmental Mathematics can be used as both a full curriculum and a supplemental aid.

There are 20 workbooks in the series, that go from K-12 grade.  Levels 1-16 cover elementary and middle school math, with 17-18 covering Algebra I and 19-20 covering beginning Geometry.

New American Cursive is an easy-to-follow resource for teaching beginning cursive. It presents simplified letter forms, using multi-sensory methods to aid in the learning of motor skills necessary to write well. Developed by Iris Hatfield, with over 35 years of experience in the handwriting field, the book improves the process of teaching handwriting and allows students to start at a younger age.

The character Mr. Meerkat is the book’s guide, making learning tasks fun; step-by-step, he shows the way to draw each letter and encourages creativity. There are clear arrow directions for letter creation, and plenty of shaded letters to trace for practice. The book is bound at the top for equal access for left- and right-handers.

NAC’s simplified strokes and letter forms allow first grade students to truly master beautiful cursive. We have used NAC in our Highlands Latin School, with dramatic results. Every child can master cursive in the first grade, and many of our first graders write better than typical third graders. Learning cursive early ensures that students are not slowed down or frustrated in the upper grades when they are focusing on other subjects, such as grammar and composition.

Once students reach first grade we introduce them to the timeline of biblical characters and events. The first lesson in these studies are the timeline, then each subsequent lesson relates to a character or event on the timeline. The method for older students is Read-Draw-Review. With each progressive age, we attempt to introduce students to more Scripture, basic Bible geography, and how to use Bible study skills such as a Bible dictionary.

Levels are:  Traceable (PreK), Beginner (ages 5-7), Level 1 (ages 6-8), Level 2 (ages 8-10), Level 3 (ages 10-12); Level 4 (ages 12-14)
