This course teaches through four high-interest “text” booklets, which provide a study of the major world authors who were “firsts” in their fields of philosophy, politics, science, religion, drama, poetry, and novels from the Dark Ages into Modern Times, with an emphasis on oral cultural traditions and literary characteristics.

Four activity books correspond to each text, and include fill-in-the-blank, true/false, multiple choice, and matching type questions that test the student’s knowledge of the concepts and Life Principles taught in the texts.

Patrick Henry College’s Teen Leadership Camps are fast-paced and full of opportunities to learn and have fun. They are open to teenagers who will be 14-18 years old at the start of the camp they are attending.

How much experience with the camp topic is needed? None! The camps are designed for everyone, from beginners excited to learn to veterans eager to hone their skills.

All Teen Camps include a field trip and camp-specific activities such as the moot court tournament, drama productions, and intelligence missions. Come prepared to experience an action-packed summer with us!

KidCoder: Game Programming will teach students in grades 6 through 8 game design and logic, including how to display graphics, animate images, handle sprites, and play sounds. This book & CD set is the second semester course of the Homeschool Programming Inc. Visual Basic “KidCoder” course-year; it is preceded by Windows Programming, which is a prerequisite for this course.

Students will learn about game design, drawing on a screen, animation with timers, game logic, artificial intelligence, saving games, drawing test and printing, and more. Students will create different programs throughout the course; and in the final chapter, students will demonstrate everything they’ve learned by writing a simple computer game.
