Keeping Fitness Fun

You made the decision to get fit, or at least get moving with that newly found time for you. Now how do you keep things interesting enough to keep going with it?

Exercise can be boring {memories of high school aerobics are flooding to mind} and if it is boring, you won’t do it. When you find a workout you really love, you need to mix things up and keep finding ones that make you feel challenged, or smile. {Yes-I said smile!}

 

My routine for the week looks like this~

 

Monday~ Pilates or heavy weights {or both!}

Tuesday~ Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, or a walk/run

Wednesday~ Pilates or weights

Thursday~ Walk with a friend, abs or Turbo Jam

Friday~ Weights

 

 

Some weeks I don’t feel like doing the heavy weights, so I do Pilates with a ball instead. If my scheduled workout doesn’t appeal to me when 7 p.m. comes around, I just go with what I feel like doing in the moment. When I mix things up, I stay interested. Some weeks I am not as motivated, and I take the easy workouts. Do what works for you!

If you despise the workout you are currently doing, keep looking! When you find it, you will know, and you may have to get creative. I never dreamed I would like kickboxing, but I LOVE IT! You never know until you try!

Just keep moving!
