  1. I’m all for a positive and easy writing curriculum. I have 4 boys, in 3 different grades, and it’s quite hard to get them motivated to write. So exciting and easy programs like this one are an encouragement!

  2. I would love these books, We don’t have many books for our home school curriculum, so this would be great. Plus I’m not usually the type to win, so this would be awesome.

  5. The actual writing is a tough thing at our house. My 7 year old has hand/eye co-ordination issues. Thank God for video games! They really are helping! But his imagination and understanding of language are really fantastic and his reading is way above average, so we work around it as much as we can.

  6. Writing is definitely a struggle at my house. It’s the subject that brings the most complaints and tears. I’m always looking for something to make it more enjoyable for my kids!

  8. I thought about trying this next year, but scrapped it to cut costs. It would be great to win and use it. My son has a vivid imagination and is ready for some writing tools to harness that creativity.

  13. Writing has been a struggle but is starting to get a bit better. Not going to push it though, so it doesn’t become a struggle! When we tie writing to art/illustrations then it is so much better for us as my son loves to draw and do art.

  14. my son has cerebral palsy with slight tone issues in his hands so writing is a struggle in our house..anything i can get my hands on to help him is greatly appreciated. 🙂

  15. Thankfully it is a joy at our house ~ all 3 of our kids love handwriting and creative writing time. That being said, it doesn’t mean they always want to write their neatest and I often have to remind them of good penmanship but they love it.

    Right now, we are just starting out witht he reading and writing journey so it’s fun for us. I hope it stays that way because I’ve always been a big writer 🙂

  19. I have liked the story builders by Write Shop – and would love to try these with my younger one – she’s 1st grade and mildly resistant to writing. . .

    1. I didn’t see the question when I first posted. My daughter loves the idea of writing, but she doesn’t like physically picking up the pencil. I think she thinks faster than she can write at this age and holding the pencil is somewhat painful.

  20. We have not really started any kind of formal writing in our house. We are in K right now and the curriculum we are using touches on some writing but not a lot. This would be perfect for us.

  23. With 5 sons, we have a variety of interest, giftedness, and struggles with writing. Two of our boys have special learning needs, so they can use whatever encouragement and reinforcement they can get.

  28. Writing is a huge struggle at our house. We work on it but it is not easy. I feel like I’m pulling teeth some times.

  29. My son loves to write but getting him to write something coherent is another story! I would love to have some help in teaching him to think about his writing before putting it on paper and then going back and revising.
