New Year Exercise

It’s that time of year. Time to reflect on what is working and what is not. Both in our homeschools and in our lives. For me, my nemesis is exercise (thanks Hashimoto’s Disease! You can read about my diagnosis and struggle here.)  So as the new year begins, exercise is on my mind (again).

And y’all, it’s just not pretty.

I have loved this parody since it originally came out… but it is perfect for all of us considering New Year Exercise and how we will fit it in! I fully plan to start exercising again next year.  And Laughter will  be a part of that exercise regimen! So enjoy some calories being burned with some laughter ….

You are welcome!!

#iconfess, when I first met my husband, I was a size 4 and we kept in shape by line dancing practically every night for hours…

If you have never line danced, you might not understand how that kept us in shape… but it is quite the aerobic exercise… especially with those boots on!

Nowadays my line dance looks more like this:

Needless to say, I’m not burning those calories up! But I need to do something that will result in this:

The irony is my mother-in-law moved in with us about four months ago and on my eating plan, she has lost almost SIXTY pounds. Seriously, y’all! She is diabetic and we have gone low carb with no sugar. But with my Hashimoto’s, apparently this is NOT the right plan for me, because I’ve only lost 10 pounds! it is infuriating!!

The only thing that has helped me is line dancing. So if you see an old woman in her mom jeans out doing line dancing, you will know why!

PS… I can still do a mean Country Schottische, so if you see us, be watching for it! 🙂

So, go ahead … it is your to confess how you stayed trim and fit before kids!!

Seriously, if you want to get serious about your health, come join our Hip Moms Getting Healthy group!! You will find lots of other homeschool moms facing our same struggles and helping each and encouraging each other with every little success!! We would love to have you on our team!!
