Making Homeschool Fun HSTA 2017 Bronze Sponsor

Making Homeschool Fun believes that, through multisensory education, homeschooling can be fun. Girls of American History is a unit series that uses American Girl books as a spine for learning about important events in our nation’s history. Girls of American History literature and activity guides utilize the strong interest the American Girl books create and builds upon it with additional activities to help with retention and comprehension. Children will be engaged in their learning as they discover new hobbies – such as pottery or leatherwork, make homemade ice cream, interview someone who grew up during a different time period, go fishing or attend an authentic Pow Wow.  These learning opportunities open up conversations, create memories and allow for imagination and personal discovery that traditional book learning lacks. The author of the well loved, Girls of American History has created a new series using the New York Times Best Selling Series – I Survived.   These units combine the reading of a thrilling story, historic events, geography, survival skills, science experiments, and more.  These units also make great learning opportunities for summer and holiday breaks.  Each unit includes custom made lapbook pages and instructions, custom made file folder game,  and so much more. The I Survived reader books are used as a catalyst to ignite interest into different times in history, as well as different science topics.  Each week has specific projects to choose from based on what works best for your family, as well as pre-identified books to teach from.  Although the books can be purchased, most are available at local libraries or through interlibrary loans.  Although some project kits and resources can be purchased, many projects or alternatives are available for free – these too have been identified for you.  Both Girls of American History and Historical Stories of Survival include spelling and vocabulary, comprehension, digging deeper project resources, weekly lesson plans and schedule.  Each unit it both the Girls of American History and Historical Stories of Survival are meant to last 6 weeks.

The Making Homeschool Fun giveaways will open Thursday, April 27th and close at midnight on Saturday, April 29th. Be sure to come back daily to earn your extra entries.
