King Arthur Flour Recalled

So many of us are on the journey to getting healthy again and many of us are using alternative flours. So I felt like I needed to get the word out about this particular recall: King Arthur Flour recalled 6,300 cases of Organic Coconut Flour (16 oz.) due to the possible presence of Salmonella.

What is Salonella?

Salmonella, the name of a group of bacteria, is one of the most common causes of food poisoning in the United States. Usually, symptoms last 4-7 days and most people get better without treatment. But, Salmonella can cause more serious illness in older adults, infants, and persons with chronic diseases. Salmonella is killed by cooking and pasteurization. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses.
