  • ArtAchieve

ArtAchieve believes that anyone can learn to draw, and that learning to draw is an essential skill.

Drawing is not a skill reserved for special people who have “talent.” Drawing is a skill, just like reading or math is a skill. Each lesson level builds on the skills developed in the previous level.

Our goal is to provide you and your students with an approach to drawing that insures success (e.g, the cat you draw will LOOK like a cat), while leaving plenty of room for creative interpretation (the cat you draw will be YOUR OWN unique cat).

The images for the lessons come from around the world and therefore are a visual tie to geography, history, literature, and other topics. We hope you explore those connections. Five levels are available, for grades K-12. Lessons can be purchased invidually or as a set per level.

Narration may be easily used with younger children; notebooking and “ocean box” activities are included at the end of each chapter. • Junior Analytical Grammar

Jr. Analytical Grammar is intended to introduce the ideas of English grammar to younger students. It is designed to be taught in an 11-week grammar “season” in either 4th or 5th grade. Created in response to requests for materials for younger students, it covers the same material found in the first season of Analytical Grammar, but the exercises are shorter and the reading level is lower. It is also more “interactive.” Rather than the student reading notes, the “notes” are really a series of questions and activities designed to help the child understand the concepts. For grades 4 and 5.

  • Teaching Textbooks Algebra II

Created for the independent, homeschooling student, Teaching Textbooks has helped thousands of high school students gain a solid foundation in upper-level math without constant parental or teacher involvement. Teaching Textbooks Algebra 2 covers fractional equations, powers and exponents, second-degree equations, equations with variables, inequalities, absolute value, and other important Algebra 2 topics.

Extraordinarily clear illustrations, examples, and graphs have a non-threatening, hand-drawn look, and engaging real-life questions make learning Algebra 2 practical and applicable. Textbook examples are clear while the audiovisual support includes full lectures (reading the textbook), practice and solution CDs for every chapter problem, homework problem, and test problem. The review-method structure helps students build problem solving skills as they practice core concepts and rote techniques.

  • TruthQuest American History for Young Student II

TruthQuest History puts God back at the center of the past.
Centered on “living books,” this creative approach to history integrates elements of both Charlotte Mason and Classical methods.
Short, very informal introductions are written directly to the student and open up each topic with a distinctly Christian perspective. Suggestions for activities or writing exercises are often included as well. The booklists follow, with selected annotations on what pages or sections to read and appropriate grade levels for each entry. Incredibly flexible in nature, families can proceed at the pace that’s best for their students as they select “spines,” biographies, in-print books, and out-of-print classics from the extensive lists.

Proceeding chronologically, entries include lists for Alexander Hamilton, War of 1812, Industrial Revolution, Black Hawk War, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, the Civil War, John Mosby, George Meade, and other relevant unit-study topics.

Grades 1-5; may be adapted for younger or older siblings. 150 pages, softcover, spiral-bound.

Full resource list is included at the back of the book.

  • Science In the Beginning

Science in the Beginning is an engaging, exciting, hands-on, multilevel elementary resource that is the first in a planned series of books by Dr. Jay Wile.

Introducing scientific concepts in the context of history, the days of creation are used as a structure through which a wide variety of scientific topics are introduced, including: light, energy conservation, air & water, botany, the solar system, zoology, and some aspects of human anatomy and physiology.

A total of 90 lessons are included; 15 for every creative day in the Genesis account. The first 12 are “normal” lessons and the last 3 are challenge lessons. Depending on how much science you wish to teach in your homeschool, there are enough lessons to cover every other day for the length of a school year, or, you can finish the book by only doing two lessons a week (and skipping the challenge lessons).
