Are you looking for a math program that is comprehensive, engaging, and less work for you? Then you might be interested in checking out A+ TutorSoft. I was given the opportunity to review their Full 3rd Grade Interactive Math Curriculum, with the Premium Edition upgrade as well (in exchange for an honest review of the software).

We come from 6 years of homeschooling experience, and of using a traditional book/workbook style math program. Last year for the first time I found myself (at around late 6th early 7th grade level math) feeling exhausted from trying to keep up with the amount of teaching I needed to do for one math lesson for one child. We would move along just fine, and then at the end of a unit (the hardest part) my daughter would stumble, and I would find myself pouring over the whole unit trying to get myself up to speed on what was being done so that I could teach it to her.

With A+ TutorSoft Interactive software that stress is eliminated. Their program comes complete with the full curriculum book on CD, multimedia lessons, printable worksheets, exams, teachers guides, reference sheets, help menu and a recommended lesson plan for those that would like some guidance as to how to lay out the lessons.

Your student can choose from having the computer go through the interactive lesson with them, or to simply read the lesson pages themselves. Then A+ TutorSoft includes both computer based interactive questions and printed worksheets for the student to practice the concepts they have learned.

For you (the parent/teacher) they have comprehensive solutions to each and every problem so that you can see what should have been done, and then easily determine where your own student went off course. Where I would like to see a change in this part is that in the solutions you have to scroll through each problem and it’s worked out solution to find the multiple choice answer. I think it would be nice if each one started with just the multiple choice answers for the all the problems at the top of the answer key, and then you scrolled down through if you needed to see certain problems worked out. There are also exams that can be used at the end of each unit with the same style answer key as the worksheets.

A+ TutorSoft also offers a Premium Edition that includes time saving features such as progress tracking, reporting, parental controls and weekly certificates of accomplishments.

The one negative thing I would say about this part is that I found it tedious to go in and insert all the grades. My son does the interactive lessons, and if I am not right there when he is completing one then I have to rely on him to remember/write down his score so that I can go back in under the parent log-in and log it into the program.

  9. This would be extremely helpful in my home because my kiddos have vision issues and if I have software I can install on a computer then I can enlarge the font to the size they need.

  10. I would love this for my kiddos that have vision issues that cause them to struggle in math. I’m thinking since it’s software I could possibly enlarge the font to a larger size…

  12. My family is moving to Austria in 5 weeks, I am SCRAMBLING to gather enough English language material to keep our homeschool going until we get settled. We are currently using another program, and you are correct, it is TEDIOUS! With all the changes going on in our home, our homeschool world is suffering! What a relief it would be to not have to go through each and every lesson. My son (8) is quite savy with the PC so I’m sure this is a kind of program he will like. Thanks.

We have been in limbo since April as we have been trying to buy a house – and it looks like it might finally happen next week… but, in the mean time, since I planned on being moved by Fall, we have been very slow with our schooling – all of our school stuff is in storage! When we move I am going to have my hands full with my three kiddos and getting them up to speed… what a blessing it would be to have something like this to make it less time-consuming for me as my 3rd grade daughter does her math.   17. This review is perfect timing! Sounds like what we need! I spent the better half of last night, searching the internet for a math program for my 9 yo grand daughter. She has epilepsy, and is struggeling in school…especially math. This program sounds awesome!! Thank you for this chance to try it out!

  18. Well, dare I say it, but I have 8 children and have used a variety of Math programs. I now have a 3rd grader (my 7th) child, whom I haven’t had much time to do math with. I am determined to succeed by the end of the year and bring her up to date, as you all know, there just aren’t enough hours in the day, sometimes. I would love to give this a try and see if it “creates more hours in my day”. True Confessions.

  28. Wow this sound great! I have a third grade boy that struggles with Math that would definitely benefit. He is very visual and loves to do work on the computer. This is our first year homeschooling him and most of those programs were not in our budget since we needed to start out new with everything.

  30. I have a third grader and this is our first year of homeschooling. I prayed about what we’d use for math this year and never felt quite settled on what we decided upon. I have already made one switch (moved up a grade within the same curriculum)….but it’s not engaging and it’s a daily battle. I was thrilled to see this and I am hoping I win! 🙂 My son loves the computer and this seems like it would be a perfect fit for him!

  32. I’d love to win this product. This is our 2nd year of homeschooling and we are still trying to find that “perfect” for us, math curriculum. We are using a traditional book, worksheet, test program now and my daughter doesn’t love it. I’d be very interested to try this out to see if it is a better fit for us. Thanks!

  36. I have struggled with teaching math. 3rd grade has its challenges with teaching multiplication facts. I would love to use a tool that would aid in this task.

  40. I have a third grader who has suddenly just begun to struggle with math. I’m frustrated because he has 4 younger siblings that also need my attention but I don’t want him to fall behind because of that. This system looks like it would help us out A TON!

  49. What a great opportunity to help me teach my children better! It took such a long time to assess my kids math skills and pinpoint where we needed review. This program seems like it would be a huge time saver and assessment tool for our family!
