We love using all of the Notgrass products, but especially enjoyed America the Beautiful. It is substantial, but so fun to learn. It is one of those books you just can not part with. It is packed with information and beautiful pictures. We LOVE it!

This is the first text book we've used for history. Since the authors are so passionate about history we felt like we were reading one of our beloved living books! I also loved the frequency that the kids were doing map and timeline activities. I'd highly recommend this and I am excited about using Uncle San and You and the high school World History this year! I'm learning as much as the kids :-)

We have only been using this curriculum for a couple of weeks but I love that I can have my middle school child use this curriculum with little to no help from me. It is already broken up into manageable size daily work loads and doesn't leave out the role Christians have/had in the founding of our nation.

I am the odd one out! Most people absolutely love America the Beautiful. It is why I chose it for our history this current school year. But the kids and I all find it very dry. The history just doesn't come alive for us and I feel like we end up reading and forgetting (and there is a whole lot of reading). Also, a lot of people love the photos and graphics in the books. Maybe I got a weird copy but our pictures are tiny, dark and grainy. I end up looking for the photos online so we can see them better. In the book they just look like bad photocopies. When everyone was going on and on about the photos I thought they'd be big, glossy and beautiful. Sorry but they're not. I had better history textbooks when I was in public school a couple decades ago.

We finally skipped ahead to The Revolutionary War and it has gotten a little better. We have a timeline going, which my 5th grader finds engaging, so I definitely recommend doing a timeline. The accompanying workbook isn't very comprehensive. It's mostly word searches and crossword puzzles, which is okay for retaining vocabulary, but not much beyond that. Now would I recommend it? I think that with any curriculum it may work for some and not for others. I would check this one out at a curriculum convention or the "view inside the book" feature on websites. It's not for us.

My daughter has told me that history and the Literature suggestions the o along with it, have become her favorite parts of homeschooling. We have enjoyed reading these textbooks together. The topics are varied and interesting. I do find myself skipping the sentences describing the pictures while reading and then returning to them after finishing the page, as my daughter does not always want to sit and look at the book with me. Unless she looks at the book while we read it, I find the incorporated captions distract from the flow of the lesson. I really like the overall positive feel of this curriculum.

I absolutely love this history curriculum. I'm very picky with history and have tried a lot. This is perfect for us. The style is great in that it is all inclusive, yet flexible enough to just pull certain lessons for a unit study and add in what you want. Because of our experience with ATB we also purchased Uncle Sam and You and From Adam to Us.

We have loved this curriculum this year! It has been a real answer to prayer, covering all of America's history in one year. My daughter completely enjoys the readings and the review questions. Due to our success with America the Beautiful, we've purchased the high school Exploring America as well and look forward to doing world history.

As a previous 3rd grade teacher I loved this curriculum. The map and timeline books were great. I always feel like geography is missing in a lot of history curriculum but not with this unit. The lesson were super easy to follow and loved the illustrations. I highly recommend this along with Uncle Sam and From Adam to Us. I have used all of the Notgrass curriculum including World History for HS. LOVE!!!

Best American history program out there, hands down! I am a former classroom teacher, currently homeschooling my 5th grade daughter. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this History program! Wonderful mix of history, God's creation, geography, etc. So interesting that I usually read the lessons out loud to my daughter, because I don't want to miss them myself! Love how it is a very well rounded program, including animals that live in an area, the history that happened in that area, the geography of the area, etc.

My kids love all of their products and so do I. They are easy to use, have beautiful pictures, and tell the truth about history from His Story. My special needs daughter was the 6th grader at the time and because of her medical issues, it took us two years to get through, but it is easily doable in one year for typical children. And she was even able to complete another product from them in 8th grade in one year and is now almost finished with their World History program for high school and we're not done with her 9th grade year yet. She loves history and can't get enough of their books. My little guys loves it too.

We loved using Notgrass History these past 2 years. Wonderfully written, high quality paper, more than enough material/information, reasonable price. We used the additional timeline and Student Workbook. Worked well for independent work as well as group learning. Looking forward to starting From Adam to Us next semester.

Last year was our first year using Notgrass curriculum. Our son was entering 7th grade and we were looking for curriculum that would allow him to work independently (he'd been learning alongside his siblings since we started homeschooling 8 years ago) without being overwhelmed . This fit the bill perfectly! He (and I) loved everything covered and especially appreciated the Biblical view. He learned so much and enjoyed history. It has proven to be a wonderful starting point to the independent learning required as he enters his high school years. He was able to work each lesson, start to finish, without any help from me. I enjoyed using this curriculum in our homeschool so much we are using Notgrass again this year for both our 8th grader and 6th grader.

I used America the Beautiful this year for my 6 & 8 graders. We read most lessons together, some they have done independently. I cannot brag on this curriculum enough. It is so well-written that it captivates us as we read. I love to read about the subjects and then look up videos on YouTube (pre-watch first) of them to give my children a visual. We have learned so much about America and it's rich history this year using these books. My children love reading history, and we agree that Notgrass has the BEST history we have ever read. I love the ties in with scripture and the literature package that goes along with the time period we are reading about. We will definitely continue with Notgrass books for the rest of our homeschooling days!
