Girls of American History was created to be used with the popular American Girl historical, fictional series. Each unit in Girls of American History is meant to last six weeks. Of course you can lengthen or shorten this based on what works for your family.

Each unit will include a suggested weekly schedule, list of required and suggested books, craft resources, field trip ideas and suggestions, party and meal ideas, templates, and other resources. This guide is meant to add depth, interest, interaction, crafts, and a historical perspective into a particular time period.

Science in the Ancient World is the second book in a hands-on, multilevel elementary science series that introduces scientific concepts using history as its guide. Because each lesson is built around an activity or experiment, it is engaging for all K-6 students. In addition, there are three levels of review for each lesson, so the parent/teacher can choose the depth at which each student is expected to grasp the material. The course contains roughly 90 hours of instruction, 35 of which are composed of hands-on activities.

The course covers the scientific work of natural philosophers who lived from about 600 BC to the early AD 1500s. It concentrates mostly on what these ancient scientists got right, but it does spend some time discussing what they got wrong, because even the mistakes that scientists make can sometimes advance our understanding of the natural world. Of course, when the students are taught something that is now known to be incorrect, they are made aware of this fact!

Classical Phonics is a deceptively simple little book our teachers and families use constantly in both kindergarten and first grade. It consists of phonetically arranged word lists for students to practice their growing phonics skills. In a word list there are no context clues, so the learner must rely on his mastery of letter sounds. For instance, if your child can pronounce each word in this list correctly – pot, pat, pit, put, pet – he knows his short vowel sounds, and you can move on to long vowels! If not, he needs more practice, and Classical Phonics is the most effective tool we know of to address the repetition that young ones need when learning to read. Modern Parables is an original film-based Bible study series on Jesus’ parables. It uses short films combined with teaching by pastors and in-depth study materials to create an entirely new learning experience.

Modern Parables seeks to re-create the emotional immediacy that Jesus’ 1st-century audience felt when hearing the parables. It does this by using some of the best parable scholarship and exploring it through creative filmmaking. The gut-level understanding made possible by the films is intended to drive listeners into a deeper understanding of the Bible.

Lessons 3 & 4 in the series. Samaritan is a drama about a teenage boy who watches his father and youth leader pass by a hurt man, only to see the man helped by someone he didn’t expect to help him.

Lessons 5 & 6 in the series. The Shrewd Manager is an ironic comedy about a dishonest farm manager who is fired and so must think quickly to figure out a way into his next job.

Lessons 7 & 8 in the series. The Widow & Judge is a moving drama about a poor widow who struggles against a corrupt judge in her pursuit of justice.

Lessons 9 & 10 in the series. The Sower is a documentary about an 80-year-old wheat farmer who grows his crop from planting to harvest.

Lessons 11 & 12 in the series. Prodigal Sons is a drama about two sons trying to manipulate their father to achieve their own selfish ends.

Teaching Textbooks Geometry Version 2.0 includes 16 chapters and 110 lessons that teach students the fundamental basics of geometry up through more difficult topics such as coordinate geometry, theorems, properties, and postulates. Chapters cover lines and angles, parallel lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, area, solid geometry, non-Euclidean geometries, and more.
