We've only used the dark blue series as catch up after pulling our daughter out of school. It is working wonders for bringing her up to the grade level she should be at. Looking forward to trying the light blue 5th grade soon.

Pros
Very easy to teach and seems to be better for my daughter than some of the other math programs that run on a spiraling system

The individual math topics are wonderful for children who are struggling with individual concepts. The telling time and money work texts were just the thing my 1st grader needed.

The online teaching videos were a huge help in explaining concepts in more than one manner, because not everyone understands the first way. I found that watching the videos really helped when the subject matter didn't click as well after reading the work text.

The program can be used, and reused for all of your children, so it's definitely the most bang for your buck.

We've only just started using 1A, but I think it's going to work really well for us. It's mostly mastery based, which means we stick with it until he gets it. The spiral maths that we looked at made my head hurt just looking at the samples; they jumped all over the place. This is simple to explain, takes things step by step, and has just enough repetition to let us come back to it the next day if we need to. Both my son and I are easily overwhelmed, so having just one page to look at (vs a textbook then a workbook/notebook) keeps the focus on math instead of "what book are we looking at now". I also like that for the 1st grade level, once you get past adding and subtracting 0-10, you're encouraged to take the chapters in whatever order makes sense to you, or even add some spiral yourself and do 2 at once. I also like the price tag.

As a former math teacher in the public school system, I have seen a good amount of math curricula that catered to classrooms. As a homeschool teacher, I have tried to find a good math program that fit my children's teaching styles. Being that each of my daughters have very different learning styles, I found that Math Mammoth's ease of use, presentation and coverage of topics, and practice opportunities have met each of their needs...and mine! I like that it is a work-text and it is quite affordable. I have shared Math Mammoth with fellow homeschool moms looking for a good math program, and they are now using it, too!
It's a great curriculum---I highly recommend it to any family teaching multiple grades with a variety of learning styles.

My son was using Saxon and finding it frustrating. I chose to change to Math Mammoth and it started out well until he got to the Geometry sections. They moved him too quickly and the work was way too tedious for his age. I searched again for another math program for him and found a great hit with Rod and Staff.
