The Bible is a collection of sixty-six books in two parts—the Old and New Testaments. Our God’s Great Covenant series dedicates two student editions to the Old Testament and two to the New Testament (the fourth book is in production). In this series, we focus on teaching younger children the overarching story of the Bible, which features God bringing a people into redemptive relationship with Himself by means of a grand covenant. We also show how this great covenant is realized by means of many promises and their fulfillment. We teach the Bible chronologically, presenting students with an ongoing stream of stories that make up the larger story of God’s redemption of people. Chapters in the books feature key facts, a story, Scripture to read, passages to memorize, and meditations on the character of God.

There are 4 volumes, each written for a third to sixth grade level.

Volume 1:  Old Testament I

Volume 2:  Old Testament 2

Volume 3:  New Testament 1

Volume 4:  New Testament 2

We are finished with God's Great Covenant I and will keep going! The perfect curriculum to take you and your kids from creation to New Testament! Each chapter features a "Jesus in the Old Testament" section. We love these!

I love, love, love that these books bring awareness of Jesus since the beginning. Jesus isn't strictly a new testament character. He has been around since the beginning with a specific plan from God. This book brings that to light for younger children (elementary). I like that. I never made that connection until I was much older, learning the similarities between Adam, the first Adam and Jesus (the last Adam).

I seriously LOVE this series! It takes a gentle, personal approach to the history and theology of Scripture. I've used all four volumes with my second son, and he's enjoyed it. I look forward to introducing my daughter to OT 1 next year! I cannot say enough in praise of this excellent series of books!

Pros
Gentle, but thorough. Epic, yet personal. God's Great Covenant is the best Bible curriculum I've seen! We've used Old Testament 1 and 2, as well as both New Testament volumes.
Cons
Honestly, none.
