My children all enjoy using Explode the Code books. It served as an excellent reinforcer for their phonics awareness. I love the use of pictures in the text and we laugh at the silliness in each lesson as the statements just don't match up. I also like th

Even though I love these books they never gave a thorough lesson in phonics. My children had to know most of the rules and had experience with sounding out of letters before attempting these lessons.
