This curriculum has been a wonderful introduction to world history and geography for my young elementary children. They enjoy the stories, although I have supplemented with the usborne encyclopedia of world history for visuals as well as other materials from our home and public library. The workbook pages are a great way to reinforce what the text talks about and there are so many project ideas. I can see how this would be overwhelming to some, but I have never felt obligated to do all of them or even any of them if we don't have time. I try to do one of the activities per chapter (week). I never feel guilty if we don't. I like having so many options I have 5 children and we repeat the curriculum again after the four books I will be glad to have material to make it new again. I am not currently using the test books, but plan to as my children get older.

Pros
Reading is accessible to young children, activity book is full of great activities. Coloring/ map work goes great with the text. The projects have been enjoyable when we have time for them and give me a way to differentiate expectations fo rmy older child

not enough visual material in the text for young children.
