I wanted a good foundation for English, science, and foreign language. Song School Latin is a great gentle introduction for kids. Playing the song CD in the car even had my then 3-year old learning and understanding Latin roots! Very effective.

cheaply made workbook, groups of words to learn seem kind of random and non-sequitur
