We have just started this program, and we LOVE it! We put the student "book" on a thumb drive for each child and when it is there turn to do History, that child takes it to there computer to read the lesson. I printed out all workbooks, lesson revies, maps, and timelines that they work on after reading. So far so good!!!!

We started From Adam to Us a few weeks ago, and are really enjoying it. It is super easy to begin using right away with virtually no teacher prep time. Students can work at their own pace on their own, or can be a family read aloud. Books, binding and pages are of very nice quality. Images/maps etc... add considerably to the lessons. Content is engaging and moves along at a quick pace. Some people may wish to dig in deeper on some of the subjects though. It would be easy to use this as a spine or jumping off point as desired. That said, covering the entire world history in one year as this curriculum was designed for will not allow time for that on alot of the subjects. I think this is a great condensed world history curriculum that does a find job of balancing the subject matter in light of Gods Word and Truth. If you need to cover world history in a year, this is a awesome option. If you want to take 2 or 3 or 4 years to cover it, than it is easily adaptable as a chronological spine for you to add in additional resources to dig deeper into. It can be very flexible that way. I chose to use the Lesson Review over the Student Workbook for my 7th grader because I felt it more age appropriate, being just abit more challenging and spending less time on what I would deem 'busywork'. I like living textbooks, not dry ones, and I choose workbooks carefully (and lightly use them in our home), instead preferring more engaging and helpful resources than just fill in the blanks. I think the Student Workbook seems geared more towards 5th/6th grade level, and definitely is a valuable resource for that age range. The best surprise I have found with From Adam to Us is the creative writing assignments! I almost didn't assign them to my son, but thought to give them a shot anyhow and see if there would be any complaining. Guess what?! There was no complaining, and he has been blossoming in his gift of writing with these prompts! I like that the curriculum encourages the use of a simple notebook/binder to keep their work organized, and see this as becoming quite a treasure to look back at over the years. Also, if you like a visual of chronology, I would add a timeline of your choice.

We have used some of the other curriculums from this company and we LOVE how thorough and solid the curriculum is. I would love to invest in more of their books.

We haven't started this curriculum yet as we got it during the pre order sale. My son, husband and I did read a little of it and looked at all the pictures and checked out the activities at the end of the lessons. This is going to be the best History resource we have had in our 7 years of homeschooling. We are excited to get started with Adam to Us and to purchase other curriculum sets by Notgrass. We are a low income family right now, but the Notgrass curriculum sets are very reasonably priced. We appreciate the dedication of the Notgrass family.

I just purchased this curriculum for my daughter for next year. When I received it in the mail and looked through the lesson layouts and saw all the gorgeous pictures, I fell in love immediately! I've been homeschooling for 9 years and used several other high priced, comprehensive curriculums but have never been as impressed as I am with this one. This looks to be a great comprehensive history, that includes bible and literature. I love how thorough it is. The fine people at Notgrass have taken all the guess of trying to piece together these 3 subjects. The lessons are very easy to follow and include extras, like fun activities to go along with each unit. I don't feel like I have to try to add or supplement anything. It is an amazing value for the price!

My kids love all of their products and so do I. They are easy to use, have beautiful pictures, and tell the truth about history from His Story. We bought the electronic version they offered at a discount while they were still writing the material. It was great, but books in hard are just easier to use. So when the book came out my son begged me to buy it even though we were almost done. My high schooler loves history and wants to read it too, since it wasn't available for her in elementary or middle school. My kids can't get enough of this company's history books. I hope they keep writing more.

Pros
Awesome pictures and layout. Actual book is much easier to use than the electronic version for certain!
Cons
The electronic version is not as easy to use because we can't take it with us and it's hard to go back to look at previous pages that are referenced. That's not Notgrass's fault, just the nature of using a computer verses a book in hand.

Most definitely!

I purchased the electronic version for my son to use this year. This was our first year using Notgrass. The book is beautifully written with lovely photographs. The lessons are well planned. My son was able to complete the lessons on his own. I highly recommend the literature books that go along with the course. My son is not a big reader, but he enjoyed all the literature books. We plan to continue to use Notgrass through high school.

After great success using the America the Beautiful curriculum last year with our 7th grade son, it was an easy decision to try From Adam to Us this year for our 6th grade daughter. We are only about a month into using the curriculum, but it does not disappoint- from the colorful pictures to the ease of use, I cannot say enough great things about this company. She has been able to do all the work on her own so far, with no real help from me, and she is really enjoying working independently. Thank you, Notgrass for another great product!

This is our first year using Notgrass. I am so glad we tried it! My daughter would argue with me everyday when it came time for history. Since starting Notgrass, we have had no trouble. She actually looks forward to doing it. The books are beautiful and very interesting. The workbooks are engaging and at the end of each lesson, the questions and activities are thought provoking and interesting. I highly recommend this curriculum.

Best history curriculum I've used! Great map work! Wonderful read aloud books with the material we covered! Made whole thing come alive! Before my kids hated doing's history, now they are the ones reminding me and asking me to do it! I'm so glad we tried it. It is well worth the price! A great deal !

I really like the fact that From Adam to Us begins at the very beginning of world history--creation! Then following a clear path we weave through history until the present. There is no skipping around which can be so confusing. The pictures are engaging and the follow up questions provoke thought. It really is three subjects combined-Bible, history and geography. And the reading and composition will supplement greatly to any Language arts. Yes, a very well rounded curriculum! I am already planning American History through Notgrass! Thank you!

We started using it as a digital curriculum and ordered the print version as soon as it was available. The pictures are stunning and it has a solid biblical world view. We did decide to use the curriculum for 2 years so we could slow down and explore the time periods more in depth. Would LOVE an audio companion to this.

I got to download a same of "From Adam to Us" on a website and thought it was an amazing curriculum. Notgrass has been really great and patient with me by writing back and forth with me to help me make history "come alive" for my children. I have kids ages 10 and 12. My oldest is mildly Autistic. I was really surprised by the held that I received. Customer service is amazing!

I love the wonderful photos and the information provided. We have tried several different history curriculum and will be staying with Notgrass from now on. They have just the right amount of information and reinforcing activities. My son found the mapping and student workbook fun for 5th grade. My daughter was challenged more with the lesson review to apply the history lessons. The review ask questions in such a way that history is not just facts to be memorized but lessons to be learned and repeated or avoided based on what the Bible teaches us. Well rounded curriculum for history and geography, as well as incorporating Bible and literature.
