Explode the Code

You don't need the teacher's manual, it's meant for a classroom setting. If you have just one or two learners, you'll be fine without. Other than that, this has been great for my new reader. It has helped him make the leap from sounding out individual letters to making words out of those letter sounds. It also provides focus for me as the mom/teacher in showing him what's next on the road to reading. I actually like that you have to find your own readers to practice reading with. I especially like that finding help in teaching my son to read isn't breaking the bank.
