Santa's Favorite Cookies - M&M Cookie Bars
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup holiday M&M candies
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 edged baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a different mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and sugar until well blended and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla.
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture until completely blended.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and about half the M&M candies.
  6. Press the dough into the baking pan and press remaining M&M candies into the top of the dough.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the middle is set and the edges are lightly browned. Cool completely before slicing.
