This curriculum provided enough information to learn about the complexities of the human body without being overwhelming. The activities were easy and fun.

My daughter wanted to study anatomy in 5th grade. I had 2 little ones to homeschool also, and couldn't add another science curriculum into my schedule. Apologia Anatomy and Physiology was the perfect fit. I did get her the CD that reads the book, mostly for pronunciation of the unfamiliar technical words. She loved the Notebook (from Apologia that coordinates with the book), and finished the course in only 5 and a half months. One day towards the end of the course she was at a doctor's office for a broken bone. The doctor started quizzing her on bones and muscles, and she picked up the model he had and talked for 5 minutes about bones, joints, muscles, blood, etc. He was floored!

I highly recommend this curriculum to students ready for a more intense, formal science unit.

My children ages 7, 8 and 9 expressed an interest in learning about the human body. We found this curriculum to be an excellent science resource. It is creationist with impressive coverage of the subject matter. I liked that I could easily adapt the lessons for the level of each child.

We learned so much last year using this text on Human Anatomy. It worked very well with multiple levels. Our family meets with another family to share in our homeschooling every other Friday. Both of our families decided to purchase and use this curriculum. We read a chapter every two weeks and then met to discuss and do various some of the activities and experiments together. We also used this time draw some of the diagrams in the book and label them. Since three of the kids using this were eighth graders, we did expand on some topics to go a little more in depth, but mostly we just expected a higher level in their oral and written narrations. We also had a great review time at the end of the year where each child chose a topic from the year and presented a report/review for the whole group. Another way we expanded it was to read a biography of a scientist in this field. It was a great year of learning and we are glad we chose this book.

My daughter and I love Apologia science books. I took A&P in college and still learned stuff from this book that I didn't know. I suggest doing the junior notebook or regular notebook with this and other Apologia books. They really help make everything click!

This was my daughter's first experience with Apologia science, and she LOVED it!
She did it as part of a co-op, and was very interested in the subject matter.
She was sad when we came to the end of the book. Even a year later, she can still remember most of
what she learned.

My 5th grade daughter used this book this year and she learned a lot from it. She is not a science lover, but she tolerated this curriculum. I liked how easy it was to read and do the experiments.

This was the first time I have used Apologia. My son is fascinated with how the human body works so I decided to try it. We have loved it. It keeps bringing you back to the magnificence of God's creation and there are more experiment recommendations than you can do so the choices are great. We are excited to use other titles by Apologia.

Great study. I purchased the journal for the first time with this series and found that it mostly created busy work, and the valuable projects were less memorable because so much of it was already created in the purchased journal. My students learned better when they created their own journal.

Our co-op had chosen to use this book during my daughter's first grade year. I loved the book, but it took extra effort to simplify the content for the early elementary aged children in the class. I wish we could have used it during 4th or 5th grades.

I am a nurse, I thought this would be fun to use with my 11 yr old daughter, and it has not been disappointing. The material points to our Creator and His amazing handiwork in designing our bodies.

Lots of good information about anatomy. Kids 9&10 enjoyed this curriculum. We did some of our own experiments and created our own journals. Although, we ended up just discussing aloud what we were learning by the end of the book.

In the thick of this currently, and it's the same quality, multi-sensory curriculum I have come to expect from Apologia. It's spawned an appreciation and curiosity for the miraculous human body, making a historically dull and cerebral subject interesting and approachable to young students.
