My daughter wanted to study Physics--and an elementary level Physics course is NOT an easy thing to find! We used this Chemistry/Physics course for her in 4th grade, and she loved it! It is very simple to understand, yet really gave her a good introduction to the Physics she was interested in. Guess what? After going through this book she is even MORE interested in Physics, so I look forward to doing the Apologia high school level Physics class with her soon!
We enjoyed this curriculum for the most part. There were lots of Try This experiments. We ended up skipping quite a few of them because there were so many. Lots of information! I think this would be a better curriculum for upper elementary kids.
Apologia is our favorite science curriculum with this title being the top of our list. It is comprehensive introduction to chemistry and physics. I appreciate that it is easily adaptable so that I can use it with all three of my children who are in different grade levels.
We have enjoyed using this book this year. The lessons are broken down into small enough chunks that it isn't overwhelming for children or the teacher. My child has learned a lot and we have loved the many experiments.
Started using this and love it. I usually follow up certain skills by showing youtube videos so they get another explanation of the different chemistry and physics topics.
