My son and I have just started the pre-reading cirriculum and he loves it! It's so fun with the games and crafts, he doesn't even realize he's learning the whole time! I'm looking forward to continuing with him in the program and see him blossom as a reader!

We used AAS and AAR with my kindergartener last year. He loved the activities and games. We would have flash card races and that really increased his word recognition and speed. We moved from level 1 to level 2 at Christmas time and will start level three this year. I love the readers. The illustrations are sweet without being distracting. When our curriculum arrived this year, my son grabbed the reader out of the box and wanted to take it to his room to read. I think that is the best testament to this program and how it builds confidence and enthusiasm for reading.

We started using AAS last year for my new then 5 year old new reader. She showed no interest in reading of writing. By the end of the program, she was loving it. She did get frustrated with the length and repetition of the writing practice. But half way through the year, we got into being creative, and she got back to enjoying the spelling program again.

I have absolutely loved used All About Reading and my children love it as well. It is simple, yet very effective. We split the lessons up so they're short, but to the point.

I use busywork as a con because I would prefer to sit with a teaching text and my student. Unfortunately, my child is really enjoying the activity sheets, review cards, tiles, and readers. There is minimal preparation and it's not a huge inconvenience when I see the progress that my child is making. He's excited to work on new lessons and is more confident about his review work. I definitely plan to continue with this program and expect to use the spelling curriculum to help my struggling reader.

I have used levels 1-3 with a struggling learner (boy). He found the stories engaging and his confidence has greatly increased. I highly recommend this program for the strategies that it gives a student to decode. I have learned so much as well.

We absolutely LOVE this program. My girls always ask to do another lesson when we get done with one. I love the approach of doing only 20-25 minutes per day, it helps take the stress off of them and off of me if we just have trouble with a concept.

By FAR my favorite curriculum that I used this year! My rising second grader grew so much as a reader and speller! We are continuing both programs for him and hoping to start my prek son this year! Thank you for this program!

I have casually been working with my 4 year old son for about a year with letter recognition and sounds, as well as concepts like rhyming or syllables. We weren't getting anywhere, and though he loved read aloud time, he had no real interest in learning it. After one lesson of this, he could isolate beginning sounds, he started pointing out letters in books, and he asks for more "Ziggy games" all the time! We are only about 2 weeks in, but now he asks about letters and words constantly and as a result already recognizes all his letters and a few words and beginning word sounds. As a new homeschooler with a 2 year old as well, the lack of prep time needed is a lifesaver too!

We're using AAR level 1 for our kindergartener and so far we enjoy it! My very active 5yo enjoys it as well- I think it's the combination of the actual teaching, along with the visuals of the magnetic tiles and the activities make it fun for him. He also enjoys "playing teacher" and spells out words for me on the magnetic board. No complaints!

I cannot stress how much I ADORE All About Reading!!! Starting with their amazing customer service, they will draw something special on your order box for your children if you request it. Second, I have tried so many different methods/curriculums for my now 8-year-old (with special needs) to learn how to read. I finally stumbled across AAR and our lives changed. Within the first week, she was reading!!! Hallelujah, cue the choir!!!!

She responded beautifully to AAR. We loved that it was easy, beautifully done, and it was an open-and-go. My favorite part was that the guide told me exactly what to say and how to teach. I couldn't give this product enough praise! I cannot wait for level 2! :)

My girls love AAR! They ask to do Ziggy School because they want Ziggy the Zebra to join them for more than just the All About Reading Lessons. I like that you can teach multiple students at once if they are at the same level. The lessons are also written short enough that if you have a few students, like I do, that are at different spots in the curriculum you are not spending half of your day doing lessons for one subject.

I began AAR level 1 for my oldest at the end of his Kindergarten year. He had previously used another program for reading but did not feel confident in his reading. We tried AAR and he flourished! He used levels 1 through 3 (finished at end of 1st grade). He's now an avid and confident reader thanks to AAR! My youngest son is in level 1 now.

I really liked All About Reading pre-reading level. But my boys, (ages 4 and 5) didn't care a thing about it! They wouldn't pay attention when I would read to them. They weren't interested in any of it.
It has sort of an old fashioned feel to it, and I think if I had little girls instead of boys it might would've worked fine. lol But I resold it after a week of using it and bought Dr. Seuss charts, pulled out my old hooked on phonics stuff and subscribed to reading eggs and starfall online. This approach is working much better for them! Plus we do letter crafts. I don't really recommend the pre-level, but I can't really say about the other levels. They may be entirely different.

We love AAR and plan to stick with it. Both of my sons excel using this program! They usually keep the games and activities and play them a few times even after our lesson time is over. The teacher's notes in the margins give great explanation of why things are done in a certain way or order. They also include common hiccups to watch for in your emerging reader and how to address an issue if it pops up. This curriculum gives me great confidence!

I must say I haven't yet used the curriculum, but I have used the Preschool ideas on the blog site. I love the Alphabet snacks--so creative and easy and helpful for learning the sounds of the letters! I really appreciate all the teaching tips articles on the website also. So, even before I have gotten the curriculum, All About Reading has already been helpful.

I've used Pre-reading through Level 3 with my now 9 yr old and he's doing great. We could be farther along but we are taking our time and not rushing. I just finished the Pre-reading level with my struggling 6yr. Old boy and 4 yr. old girl who's ready to start reading soon! They both loved it so now we move on to Level 1.
