I loved using their lap books last year to supplement our curriculum. My hands on learner couldn't wait to start new lap books. My 7th grader will be homeschooling for the first time this year and he asked if he could please use them too because they looked so fun for his brother!
We used the lap books for Jay Wile's Science in the Beginning series. The kids enjoyed the cutouts but did tire of all of the cutting out. Pre-printed packs would be nice too. All in all I feel that the lapbook set covered the material well enough.
When we started homeschooling six years ago, I had no idea what a lapbook was. A couple years later, I found out about them when we used a curriculum from Geography Matters. Our oldest dtr thought it was the greatest thing ever and if it was up to her, she would do lapbooks in place of everything else. We continue to use them when we want a fun way to study a topic more in depth. A Journey through Learning is always the first place I check to see if they have the topic we need.
A Journey Through Learning is one of my two favorite companies for lapbooks. Their are just so much easier, more put together and visually appealing then some of the others. I was spoiled and bought a lapbook from different company to try out this summer and was really disappointed with the things (like suggested vocab) that were not included in the other company's book. It would have taken me hours more of prep to get to the same place in info that A Journey Through Learning provides with their lapbooks.
I started using lapbooks from Journey Through Learning last year, and couldn't have been happier with the product. All 3 of my children were able to participate in nearly everything, and customer service is impeccable!
